UNICEF: Afghanistan has the highest number of child deaths since 2005

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says Afghanistan has the highest number of confirmed child deaths since 2005.
More than 28,500 children have lost their lives in Afghanistan since 2005, accounting for 27 percent of all child deaths in the world, according to the agency.
According to the report, children were severely injured during the armed conflict, violence and insecurity in Afghanistan last year.
UNICEF reports on Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and northern Ethiopia, adding that children are more likely to be abused in those countries.
