Iran criticized the unprofessional nature of the Taliban border forces

The Director General of West Asia of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the Afghan border guards are unprofessional and this has led to clashes between the Afghan border guards and the military of neighboring countries in some cases.

Criticizing the unprofessional nature of the Afghan border guards, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Director General for West Asia, Seyed Rasoul Mousavi, wrote on his Twitter page that the Taliban did not fully understand the border and border issues.

“According to reports published in the past month, border clashes between the border forces of Iran, Pakistan and Turkmenistan took place in Jawzjan yesterday,” he wrote. “The root of these clashes is the unprofessionalism of the Afghan border guards and the lack of recognition of the border and border issues by the Taliban forces stationed at the border.”

In recent weeks, however, the Taliban have clashed in separate incidents with the border guards of Iran, Pakistan and yesterday with the border guards of Turkmenistan.

But Taliban officials have said the clashes were the result of a misunderstanding.
