The United Nations has raised $ 1.5 billion to help Afghanistan

A UN spokesman says the organization has raised $ 1.5 billion to help Afghanistan.
UN spokesman Stephen Dujarric told a news conference yesterday that UN humanitarian donors had provided $ 1.5 billion in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan in 2021.
A spokesman for the organization stressed that the coming winter will make life more difficult for Afghans, adding that in the past 24 hours, snow and rain have affected a number of areas in the country, resulting in flights to and from Kabul Disrupted.
He also said that UN humanitarian partners had helped 7 million people in Afghanistan with food in December, adding that they were competing with time to deliver aid and supplies in order to commit to increased operations.
Cash, food and non-food assistance is currently being provided in various parts of Afghanistan, according to a spokesman for the UN Secretary-General.
