Pakistan is concerned about the Taliban’s unclear stance against terrorist groups

Pakistani officials say the Taliban should take a more specific stance against terrorist groups.

The Pakistani government is deeply concerned about the Taliban’s unclear stance against terrorist groups, the Express Tribune quoted a Pakistani official as saying.

“We call on the Taliban leadership to consider the Pakistani Taliban as a test case,” said the Pakistani official, who did not want to be named.

“If the Taliban cannot address Pakistan’s concerns, who will trust them and their promise to sever ties with al-Qaeda and other similar groups?” The Pakistani official added.

According to the newspaper, after the Taliban took control, Pakistan has become so close to the group that it has even provided the Afghan Taliban government with a list of the most wanted members of the TTP.
