The United States is committed to increasing its assistance to Afghanistan

The US National Security Adviser announced the US decision to increase humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

“The United States intends to increase humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, but it wants to do so through independent agencies, not directly through the extremist government,” US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told Foreign Policy yesterday.

“We continue to believe that direct transfer of funds to the Taliban is unacceptable,” he said. “It’s an important responsibility of the United States and of the international community as a whole, and we will step up our efforts and play our part in that.”

He further added that the US government believes that progress is needed in this area.

At present, the people of Afghanistan are facing many problems after the Taliban took control due to the cessation of international aid, drought, the onset of winter and the freezing of the country’s assets by the international community.
