Turkey is sending 700 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

The Turkish president has said that his country will send a train carrying 700 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
“With the support of 10 non-governmental organizations and in coordination with the Turkish Disaster Management Center, Afad is preparing to send a 700-ton train of food and clothing,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saed at a rally. “We are transporting health and emergency goods to Afghanistan.”
“These supplies, which are provided by NGOs and our citizens, will be sent to Afghanistan via the state railway,” he added.
Referring to the cultural and historical relations between Turkey and Afghanistan, and emphasizing that Turkey can not ignore the problems of Afghanistan, the Turkish President added: They are in a very difficult situation. Nearly 19 million people, including 13 million children in the country, are malnourished. “We are determined not to leave our brothers alone.”
Turkey has already worked on infrastructure projects and humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
However, Turkey continues to host the largest number of Afghans who have immigrated to that country since the fall of the former regime of Afghanistan.
