The Taliban called for Japan to cooperate in the recognition process

During a meeting with the Japanese ambassador in Kabul, the Taliban deputy prime minister called on Japan to cooperate in recognizing the group.
According to the Bakhtar state news agency, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy prime minister of the Taliban, met today with Takashi Okada, the Japanese ambassador to Kabul.
“The Islamic Emirate has fulfilled the conditions for recognition and Japan should cooperate in recognizing and releasing Afghanistan’s frozen assets,” the Taliban deputy prime minister said.
“The international community should take the path of understanding rather than pressure, and we ensure that all the fundamental rights of the Afghan people are safe,” he added.
The Japanese ambassador also reminded the Afghan people of his country’s $ 100 million in aid, which will be used in the fields of agriculture, education, drinking water and sanitation.
The Taliban Deputy Prime Minister also thanked Japan for its assistance to Afghanistan and called for more assistance from the international community, especially Japan.
