Accelerate aid to Afghanistan; Talks between Turkmen and Pakistani officials

Turkmenistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister met with the Pakistani Army Commander in Islamabad and called for speeding up the process of providing aid to the Afghan people.
According to Pakistani media, the Pakistani military has announced that Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Wafa Hajiyev met with General Qamar Javid Bajwa, Commander of the Pakistani Army, during his visit to Islamabad.
The Pakistani military said in a statement that the two sides discussed regional security and co-operation in humanitarian activities for the Afghan people.
According to the announcement, the latest status of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan gas pipeline project, called TAPI, was also discussed during the meeting, and emphasis was placed on its completion as soon as possible.
“Pakistan continues to work for stability in Afghanistan and calls on the international community to address the crisis in the country,” he said.
Turkmenistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister also stressed the need to increase bilateral cooperation.
