Turkey to its citizens: Avoid unnecessary trips to Ukraine

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has asked its citizens to refrain from unnecessary travel to the border areas of eastern Ukraine.

“The security situation in Ukraine is being closely monitored by Turkey,” the ministry said in a statement. “In this context, our citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel to the eastern regions on the border with Ukraine.”

The ministry advised Turkish citizens to take all necessary measures for their personal security and to contact the Turkish embassy in Kiev before making necessary and compulsory trips to these areas.

However, it is feared that the crisis between Ukraine and Russia will lead to a full-blown war. More than 100,000 Russian troops have long been stationed on the border with Ukraine, and at the same time Russia and Belarus have recently launched a major joint naval exercise; As a result of this maneuver, Ukraine has claimed that it is practically under naval siege.
