Talks between the Taliban and the European Union began in Qatar

The Taliban Foreign Ministry announced the start of talks between the Afghan delegation and the European Union in Qatar.
A statement issued by the ministry said talks had begun in Qatar between a Taliban delegation led by Amir Khan Mottaqi, acting Taliban foreign minister, and the European Union.
The Taliban Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the talks will focus on issues related to the resumption of diplomatic activities in Kabul.
Meanwhile, a Taliban delegation recently traveled to Norway to hold talks with Afghan diplomats and Afghan women’s rights activists.
But the Norwegian Foreign Ministry later said that inviting the Taliban to talks in that country did not mean recognizing the group’s government.
