Five people were killed in an armed attack in Kapisa

Taliban officials say five people have been killed in an armed attack on a car carrying relatives of a former member of parliament in Kapisa.

Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy minister of information and culture and a Taliban spokesman, said in a message that the attack took place two nights ago on the car of relatives of Habiba al-Rahman Afghan, a former nomadic member of parliament in Jamala Agha district of Kapisa’s second district.

Mujahid added that five people, three of whom were relatives of Mr. Afghan and two of whom were members of the Taliban, were killed in the attack.

He said an investigation had been launched and the results would be shared with the media soon.

But the former member of the House of Representatives has claimed that a car carrying his relatives was targeted by the Taliban.
