The UN High Commissioner for Refugees stressed the need to build trust to encourage refugees to return to Afghanistan

Enamullah Samangani, the Taliban’s deputy spokesman, tweeted that Filippo Grande, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, had met with Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Taliban’s deputy chief of staff, this afternoon to build trust to encourage refugees to return to Afghanistan.
During the meeting, he said that 55 areas in the districts and five major cities of Afghanistan have been identified for repatriation and reintegration, in which, in addition to humanitarian aid, we will also carry out construction and reconstruction work.
The Taliban Deputy Prime Minister also noted that humanitarian aid alone is not enough for returnees, and that they should be given job opportunities, which can be achieved through the implementation of development projects across the country.
It is worth mentioning that Filippo Grande, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, arrived in Kabul this morning.
He said the purpose of his visit to Afghanistan was to discuss with the Taliban the challenges related to the humanitarian situation in the country, especially the situation of the displaced in Kabul.
