The remarks were made by Saeed Yusuf, deputy director of the Organization of Turks Abroad and Relatives’ Association (YTB), who had traveled to Kabul, Afghanistan, to assess the state of education in Afghanistan and to continue cooperation.
In an interview with Anatolia News Agency, he said that it is gratifying to see students who have received scholarships from Turkey and were able to work in important positions in their country after graduation.
“The number of applications for scholarships at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels in Afghanistan has increased,” he added. Last year, Afghanistan came in first with about 21,000 applications. “Last year, we awarded scholarships to about 300 students.”
