Chinese President: Peace and stability in Afghanistan are in the interest of the countries of the region and the world

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chun Ying tweeted, quoting President Xi Jinping, that Beijing respects Afghanistan’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and is committed to supporting the pursuit of peace, stability and development in the country.

“A peaceful, stable, developing and prosperous Afghanistan is the dream of all Afghan people,” the Chinese president said in a statement at a meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors. “It is also in the common interest of the countries of the region and the international community.”

The third meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors’s foreign ministers is being held in China.

Yesterday, the acting head of the Taliban’s foreign ministry headed a delegation to China at the official invitation of China to attend the third meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors in Beijing, the capital of China.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the deputy spokesman for the Taliban’s foreign ministry, said acting minister Amir Khan Mottaqi was scheduled to meet with a number of regional officials on the sidelines of the meeting.
