The United States called the ban on narcotics production in Afghanistan the first positive step by the Taliban

Welcoming the Taliban’s decision to ban narcotics cultivation in Afghanistan, the US embassy in Kabul said that this is first step in the affirmative action from this group.

McCreery, the US ambassadorin Kabul, tweeted yesterday that the illegalization of narcotics production in Afghanistan was the first positive step by the Taliban and called for the decision to be implemented.

He further tweeted that having a healthy and legal agriculture will help the Afghan economy and ultimately the people of this country.

On Sunday, the cultivation and production of narcotics in Afghanistan was banned by order of Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzadeh, the Taliban leader, issued by the group’s Interior Ministry.
