Afghanistan Electricity Company announced the activation of the third turbine of Salma Dam

Afghanistan Electricity Company announced in a newsletter that the third turbine of Salma Dam in Herat has been activated and said that the three turbines of Salma Dam currently produce more than 30 MW of electricity.

The company’s newsletter states that the technical staff of the country’s electricity company has repaired the third turbine of the Selma dam and re-included it in the electricity network.

Afghanistan Electricity Company added that at the same time, using internal sources of electricity generation, it pays serious attention to the maintenance and care of electricity facilities.

At present, 20 percent of Afghanistan’s electricity is supplied from domestic sources and the other 80 percent is imported from neighboring countries.
