UNICEF pays the salaries of 94% of the country’s teachers

Officials at the Taliban Ministry of Education say 94 percent of teachers across the country will be paid by UNICEF by next week.

Officials from the Taliban Ministry of Education announced after meeting with the technical team of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) that UNICEF is scheduled to pay 94% of teachers across the country by next week.

Emphasizing that the salaries will be paid through bank accounts, the ministry told teachers who do not have bank accounts that they will be given salaries starting next week in coordination with the financial departments of the provincial education departments after a mechanism is in place.

According to the Taliban Ministry of Education, the salary will be paid by UNICEF in the amount of $ 200, and this amount will be paid to teachers who have recently been listed by the Ministry of Education and Finance, not fictional teachers.

Earlier, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) had been responsible for paying teachers in Afghanistan for several months.
