UNAMA condemned today’s attacks in Kabul

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in a statement today condemned the attacks on two schools in Kabul and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

Following this statement, Deborah Lines, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan, expressed her deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Of the three consecutive explosions that took place in Kabul today, only 22 people were killed and the injured were taken to the Mohammad Ali Jinnah Hospital from explosion in the Abdul Rahim Shahid School.

One of the explosions took place in Mumtaz School in Qala-e-Naw area as a result of a hand grenade, and two other powerful explosions took place in Abdul Rahim Shahid High School located in the Tank-e-Til area of Dasht-e-Barchi.

Khalid Zadran, spokesman for the Taliban police headquarters in Kabul, also confirmed on his Twitter page that the three bombings in a row in the 18th district of Kabul targeted our Shiite compatriots.
