Local sources in Badakhshan report that the head of the Taliban mines in the province was killed in a landmine explosion.

According to sources, a car carrying Maulvi Abdul Fattah, the head of the Taliban mines for Badakhshan, was targeted by a landmine today in the Baghshah area of ​​Faizabad city.

Sources add that as a result of the incident, Mawlawi Abdul Fattah and one of his bodyguards were killed and five other Taliban were wounded.

However, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack, and local Taliban officials in Badakhshan have not commented.
