Uzbekistan sended 4,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Taliban officials say Uzbekistan has provided thousands of tons of food and medicine to help the needy in Afghanistan.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted that the friendly country of Uzbekistan had donated 4,000 tons of humanitarian aid, including flour, wheat, rice, oil, clothing and the corona vaccine, to the Afghan people.

While emphasizing the expansion of bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, he thanked Tashkent for its assistance.

The Taliban local officials say the aid was delivered to Afghanistan through the port of Hairatan on Monday and was handed over to the group’s officials.

Uzbekistan’s special envoy to Afghanistan and Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also attended the ceremony.

According to the United Nations, more than 90 percent of Afghans are in urgent need of assistance.
