Floods in Afghanistan have killed and injured about 40 people

Officials at the Ministry of State for Disaster Management say floods have caused financial and human losses in some northern provinces in recent days.

According to the statistics published by the ministry, as a result of the floods in the last few days in 12 provinces of the country, 19 houses have been completely damaged and 261 houses have been partially damaged. Roads have also been damaged.

According to these statistics, most of the casualties due to floods occurred in the northern provinces of Faryab, Baghlan and Badghis.

“Investigations are ongoing and we have helped those affected by the damage, and our team is on the ground trying to help the people,” said Ghulam Ghous Naseri, the ministry’s deputy finance and administration director.

Meanwhile, a large part of Afghanistan is also facing a serious threat of drought.
