Iran: The Taliban must stop the growth of extremism in Afghanistan

Spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry says the Taliban must ensure security in Afghanistan and prevent the spread of extremism in the country.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told a news conference that the Taliban should ensure security in Afghanistan and prevent the growth of extremism, saying that Iran’s position against the Taliban was principled and in line with the realities of Afghanistan.

He also stressed that the Taliban should work to form an inclusive government in Afghanistan and that Iran would be a supporter of the Taliban in this regard, adding that the group should not allow Afghan territory to be used against neighboring countries.

According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, his country is serious about all the people of Afghanistan, including all ethnic groups and groups, and is concerned about their situation.

Iran is one of Afghanistan’s neighbors, which has recently had border disputes with the Taliban government but has accepted the group’s diplomats.
