Taliban: for the past 20 years, Karzai has not given his wife the freedom he wanted for others

Reacting to the former Afghan president’s remarks on women’s hijab, the Taliban’s Ministry of Promoting Virtue and Prohibiting Virtue said that in the last 20 years, he had asked the Afghan sisters for any kind of freedom but did not grant it to his wife.

The ministry tweeted that Karzai had demanded any release for the “Afghan sisters” for 20 years because of “foreigners’ satisfaction”, but did not allow his wife to appear in the media until the end of his rule, according to the statement.

The Ministry of Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil added that his words could not be commented on.

In an interview with CNN, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai stressed that Afghanistan is an Islamic country and the issue of hijab is clear.

The former Afghan president also spoke about the Taliban’s new order to cover the faces of female presenters on television during the program, saying that women should not follow this order.

It is worth mentioning that two days ago, the Taliban announced in a new order that the female presenters should cover their faces while performing the program.
