EU and Central Asian special envoys hold special meeting on Afghanistan in Kazakhstan

EU Special Representative Thomas Nicholson tweeted about the meeting and wrote that the meeting was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and discussed the situation in Afghanistan.

“We endorse the initiatives of the international community to address the challenges facing the Afghan economy and emphasize the importance of regional stability and the continuation of dialogue,” he wrote.

Emphasizing that women and girls in Afghanistan should be able to go to school, work and participate fully in public life, he added that representatives from Europe and Central Asia also called for girls to return to education in Afghanistan.
