Taliban: The rights of all religious minorities in Afghanistan are protected

Taliban spokesman said in response to the US Secretary of State’s remarks that the situation of religious freedom had deteriorated since the group took control of Afghanistan, that the rights of all religious minorities in Afghanistan were protected.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted in response to recent remarks by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, saying: “The US State Department report is incomplete and based on incorrect information, all Sunni compatriots, Shiites, Sikhs and our Hindus freely practice their religion.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a meeting yesterday that conditions for religious freedom in Taliban-held Afghanistan have deteriorated significantly.
Emphasizing that religious freedom is a priority for the United States, he also criticized Saudi Arabia, China, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan and Myanmar, adding that the human rights and religious freedom situation in those countries is dire.
