Several villages in the Tagab district of Badakhshan were liberated from the Taliban

Sources in Badakhshan say a Taliban commander who broke away from the group has taken control of several villages in the Tagab district of the province.

The sources say that the Taliban commander, named Qari Waqas, had recently opposed the group and had now raised the flag of the Resistance Front in the villages under his control.

According to sources, the villages of Kuri, Khumbak, Katulaba and several other villages in Tagab district of Badakhshan province are currently under the control of the commander.

The Taliban are said to have sent troops to Badakhshan province a few days ago to suppress the commander, but failed to suppress him.
