Red Cross: The recent earthquake in Afghanistan has affected 60,000 families

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says 60,000 families have been affected by the recent earthquake in Afghanistan.

The committee said today that 60,000 families, including 200,000 people, were affected by the recent earthquake in Afghanistan.

The Red Cross said in a statement that 40 percent of the 200,000 were children, adding that heavy rains in the affected provinces had hampered search and rescue operations.

The committee also expressed concern about the dangers of natural disasters such as landslides and floods in parts of Afghanistan, adding that the situation coincides with the current humanitarian crisis facing Afghanistan, where more than 50 percent of Afghanistan’s population need humanitarian due to a combination of crises.

Last week’s quake, which shook parts of Afghanistan, killed and injured more than 3,000 people in Paktika, Paktia and Khost provinces, according to Taliban figures.
