UNAMA expressed concern over reports of civilian harassment in Balkhab

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has expressed concern over reports of harassment of civilians in the Balkhab district of Sar-e-Pul province.

UNAMA tweeted that it was concerned about reports of civilian casualties, displacement, and allegations of human rights abuses and financial losses due to recent fighting in the Balkhab district of Sar-e-Pul province.

UNAMA added that the agency is following the events.

However, yesterday, Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, denied reports of harassment of civilians in Balkhab district of Sar-e-Pul, saying that no civilians had been harmed in the district.
