Tashkent: Taliban must adhere to their commitments to prevent security threats from Afghanistan against other countries

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan says that the Taliban must adhere to their commitment to prevent security threats from Afghanistan against neighboring countries.

On the eve of the opening of the Tashkent conference on Afghanistan, Yusuf Ghabul Janov, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, told reporters today that the Taliban must prevent terrorist threats from Afghanistan against neighboring countries.

Regarding the Tashkent conference, he said that the main purpose of this meeting is to confirm the previous commitments of the caretaker government of Afghanistan to prevent the use of Afghan soil against the security interests of neighboring countries, other countries in the region, and the whole world.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan added that about 100 foreign delegations including Russia, Central Asian countries, European Union, China, Pakistan, America, Turkey, heads of the United Nations and its legal institutions and representatives of international financial institutions will participate in this conference.

According to him, the conference will continue to discuss the release of Afghanistan’s foreign exchange reserves and the implementation of infrastructure projects in the transportation, communication and energy sectors in this country.

Meanwhile, the Taliban’s foreign ministry has announced that Amir Khan Motaghi, acting head of the ministry, has left for Uzbekistan at the head of a delegation of this group to participate in the Tashkent conference this morning.
