United Nations: Efforts are underway to separate the Taliban from Al-Qaeda

The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations says that efforts are underway to separate the Taliban from Al-Qaeda.
According to Sputnik, Vladimir Voronkov, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and Head of the Counter-Terrorism Division of this organization, said in a news conference that the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office is trying to separate the Taliban from Al-Qaeda.
Referring to the death of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda, he said: “He was one of the leaders of al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda is currently well represented in Afghanistan. “This administration is doing its best to encourage the Taliban to separate themselves from al-Qaeda.”
It should be noted that the leader of al-Qaeda was killed in Kabul on Sunday as a result of a drone attack by the United States.
