Hekmatyar: We do not participate in a government that is not formed based on the people’s vote

The leader of Islamic Party of Afghanistan says that he will not participate in a government that is not formed based on the people’s vote.

Golbedin Hekmatyar, the leader of Afghanistan Islamic Party, said in a speech that he does not participate in a government that is not formed based on the people’s vote.

He emphasized on creating a council based on the will of the people and said that the members of this council should be elected by the people and the members of the new government should respect the decision of this council.

He said: We never want to participate in a government that is not formed based on the people’s vote. This request was made a long time ago and will be made in the future as well. There should be a council that represents the national consensus and all the people, including the authorities, respect it, and this council should approve a constitution for the people that is in accordance with Islamic rulings and guidelines.

The leader of Islamic Party of Afghanistan had previously emphasized that coalition governments cannot run a country like Afghanistan, these governments were not successful anywhere, and as experience has shown, such governments were not successful in Afghanistan either.
