Faiq: Depriving girls of education is an injustice to the future of a country

The head of Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has said that depriving girls of education is national betrayal and injustice to the future of a country.
Nasir Ahmed Faiq, head of Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, wrote in a tweet that Afghanistan is the only country in the world where girls are deprived of education.
He wrote: “Afghanistan is the only country in the world where schools are closed to girls. A country that needs humanitarian aid and needs educated manpower to get rid of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency and progress.”
Meanwhile, one year has passed since middle and high schools were closed for girls in Afghanistan.
Yesterday, the United Nations Deputy Mission (UNAMA) also said in a statement that a year has passed since girls above the sixth grade were deprived of education, and schools for female students in Afghanistan have not yet been reopened.
