The Taliban demanded that the United States reconsider its decision to restrict visas to the group’s officials

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban said in a statement in response to the imposition of restrictions on issuing visas to officials of this group by the United States that this decision of the United States is an obstacle to the progress of relations between the two countries.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Taliban’s foreign ministry, wrote in a tweet that the United States made this decision while the high-ranking officials of the two sides have discussed many issues in Doha this week in numerous meetings.

Emphasizing that such decisions have a negative impact on bilateral relations, he added that the United States should take positive steps in view of the recent talks in Doha and show in practice that it seeks constructive interaction with the Islamic Emirate.

The spokesman of the Taliban’s foreign ministry demanded to resolve the issues of dispute between the two countries through diplomatic channel and said that such decisions that are not in the interest of both sides should be reconsidered.

This is while the American government has imposed a restriction on issuing American visas for current and former officials of the Taliban government and other people who are directly or indirectly involved in violence against women and girls in Afghanistan.
