Russia: About 10,000 terrorists are active in Afghanistan

The Russian Foreign Ministry says that approximately 10,000 terrorists who form about 20 groups are active in Afghanistan.
According to Sputnik, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Siromolotov said that about 10,000 terrorists are active in Afghanistan.
He said: “We consider the situation with the growth of secret terrorist forces in Afghanistan very serious. There are more than 20 terrorist groups operating in Afghanistan, whose number is estimated to be around 10,000.
He added that the financial support of foreign terrorists and their increase in Afghanistan continues.
Previously, in a telephone conversation with his Tajik counterpart, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his concern about the influence of ISIS in Afghanistan and said that he believes that this group has strength in the north of this Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the Russian ambassador in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, also told the media that measures are being taken to strengthen the protection of Tajikistan’s borders.
