Taliban: The Moscow meeting is incomplete without us

In response to the non-attendance of the group’s delegation at the Moscow consultative meeting on Afghanistan, the Taliban’s foreign ministry has said that the government’s non-participation in such meetings will have a negative impact on interaction with the world.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Taliban’s foreign ministry, wrote in a tweet that Afghanistan has a responsible government and has been able to provide security throughout the country, protect the borders and interact with neighboring countries, the region and the world in the political, economic and security sectors. The absence of a delegation from the government of this group in the meetings about Afghanistan can have a negative effect on the interaction.

The Moscow-format consultative meeting on Afghanistan is scheduled to be held in mid-November, and two days ago Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, said in an interview with TASS news agency that a Taliban delegation would not participate in the meeting.

He said: “The delegation of the Islamic Emirate will not participate in the meeting; it is only for the members of the Moscow format.”

According to TASS news agency, representatives of Russia, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the Moscow consultative meeting about Afghanistan.
