The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban has announced that the Chinese ambassador in Kabul met with the head of the ministry and pledged to continue his country’s aid to Afghanistan.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesman of the Taliban Foreign Ministry, said that Wang Yu, the Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan, met with Moulvi Amir Khan Motaghi, the Acting Minister of the Ministry, and said that Beijing will continue to provide assistance to the interim government of Afghanistan.

In this meeting, the Chinese ambassador said that in order to strengthen the relations between the two countries, it is necessary to create a mechanism and create understanding between the organizations and institutions interested in these relations.

In this meeting, the Taliban Foreign Minister also appreciated China’s decision to reduce customs tariffs to zero for Afghanistan’s export goods and called it an important step for the development of relations between the two countries.

The Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan recently said in a tweet that his country will reduce the customs tariff on 98% of Afghanistan’s export goods to zero after December of this year.

He added that this decision is useful based on the implementation of China’s mutually beneficial plan, and according to this plan, Afghanistan’s exports to China will be almost completely exempted from customs tariffs.
