SIGAR: President Ghani’s neglect of the reality of his country was worrying

The Office of the Special Inspector General of the United States for the reconstruction of Afghanistan said that the neglect of the former president of Afghanistan from the reality of his country was worrying.

The Office of the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) tweeted that President Ghani’s obliviousness to the troubling realities facing his country was a problem even in the early days of his administration.

Cigar quoted Michael McKinley, the former US ambassador to Afghanistan, as saying that the apparent separation of the Afghan president from the reality of that country was worrying. He lived in a fantasy land.

Earlier, Ashraf Ghani, the fugitive president of Afghanistan, said in an interview with the BBC that his only mistake as the president was trusting international partners, including the United States.

In this interview, he said that international partners constantly pressured him and limited his powers and made him a victim to blame him for the chaos and crisis in Afghanistan.
