UNAMA has asked the Taliban to abolish the death penalty

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has asked the Taliban to abolish the death penalty in this country.
In a statement in response to the execution of a person by the Taliban in Farah province, UNAMA said that the United Nations strongly opposes the death penalty under any circumstances.
Referring to the execution of a person in Farah province by the Supreme Court ruling of the interim government of the Taliban, this institution asked the government of this group to cancel the death penalty and stop it immediately.
Yesterday, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban government, wrote in a tweet that the Supreme Court of the Islamic Emirate implemented the divine sentence of retribution on a murderer in Farah Province.
By publishing a notice, Mr. Mujahid mentioned the executed person, Tajmir, the son of Gholam Sarwar, and said that he was accused of murdering a person in Farah province with a knife.
