Japan emphasized on the continuation of the country’s aid to Afghanistan

In a meeting with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, Japan’s ambassador emphasized the country’s continued assistance in various sectors.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban wrote in a tweet that the Ambassador of Japan in Kabul, in a meeting with the Acting Minister of the Ministry, Amir Khan Motaghi, said that his country is willing to increase its aid for alternative livelihoods for poppy, treatment of drug addicts and other sectors in Afghanistan.

He added that Japan will start its duties as a member of the Security Council next year and will try to play a good role in the Security Council regarding Afghanistan through an active mission.

In this meeting, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban also appreciated the 106-million-dollar aid and Japan’s positive diplomatic interaction and called such interaction as a roadmap for the international community.

Mr. Motaghi also asked the Japanese ambassador to convey the positive message of the Islamic Emirate’s functions in preventing poppy cultivation, reducing administrative corruption, providing security and other matters.
