One person died as a result of the fire in the Salang tunnel

Taliban security officials say that an oil tanker caught fire in the Salang tunnel and one person was killed as a result.

Officials of the Parwan Police Command say that last night at the door of the Salang tunnel, an oil tanker was separated from its body and caught fire.

According to them, this incident happened at a distance of 50 meters inside the Salang tunnel, and as a result, one person was killed and 16 others were injured.

They add that now the fire has been contained by the fire brigade and the injured have been taken to the hospital.

The Salang highway connects the northern and southern provinces of Afghanistan and is one of the busiest highways.
