12 countries of the world condemned the Taliban’s decision to ban the education of girls in universities

The foreign ministers of 12 countries have reacted to the Taliban’s decision to close universities to girls and women in Afghanistan and have condemned this action.

The foreign ministers of Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Holland, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and the High Representative of the European Union have said in a joint statement in response to the imposition of restrictions on the education of girls and women in Afghanistan that They strongly condemn the ban on women and girls entering universities and the continued ban on girls’ education in secondary schools.

In this declaration, the repressive actions of the Taliban against Afghan girls and women are called a cruel and systematic act and it is stated that during the last sixteen months, the Taliban have issued sixteen orders and decrees that limit the mobility of women, prohibit them from working and It prohibits them from going to public places such as parks and sports clubs.

In this announcement, the foreign ministers of the mentioned countries have asked the Taliban to immediately abandon the new repressive measures related to the education of women and girls in universities and also cancel their current decision to prevent access of girls to primary and high schools without delay.
