Thomas West: Banning women’s work by the Taliban will have deadly risks

Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan affairs, said that the ban on women’s work by the Taliban in non-governmental and international organizations will lead to deadly risks.
The US special representative has said in response to the suspension of women’s work in domestic and foreign institutions in Afghanistan by the Taliban: “The order of the Taliban, which prohibits women from working in humanitarian aid, is deeply irresponsible. It poses deadly risks to millions of people who rely on life-saving aid. “Taliban ignores their most basic responsibilities towards their people.”
It should be noted that during the past week, the Taliban suspended the education of girls in private and public universities in two separate orders, and then the Ministry of Economy of this group ordered all private and public institutions in Afghanistan to not allow women to work in these institutions.
In response to this action, the international community, including Islamic countries condemned it and demanded the cancellation of these decisions by the Taliban.
