The last survivor of the Soviet army died in Herat

Sources in Herat report the death of one of the surviving soldiers of the Soviet Union army in this province.
Sources in Herat say that Hakimov, known as Sheikh Abdullah, who was one of the captured soldiers of the Soviet army in Afghanistan and lived in this province, died on Tuesday morning due to a respiratory disease at the age of 50.
Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the caretaker government of the Taliban, also expressed his condolences to the family of this soldier in a tweet and wrote: “Khakimov came to Afghanistan with the Soviet army and was captured here. He later converted to Islam and received Afghan citizenship.”
According to Mr. Mujahid, this surviving Soviet soldier got married in Herat and lived in this province.
Sources said that Sheikh Abdullah left a daughter.
