The UN Security Council expressed concern over the closure of universities to girls in Afghanistan

In a statement about Afghanistan, the United Nations Security Council said that it is deeply concerned about the Taliban’s suspension of women and girls’ access to universities.
The members of this council have expressed concern about the Taliban’s reports of the suspension of women and girls’ access to universities and the suspension of schools above the sixth grade.
In this statement, they have asked the Taliban to reopen the schools and put an end to the policies and approaches that show the increasing erosion of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms as soon as possible.
Security Council members also expressed concern over reports that the Taliban have banned female employees of non-governmental organizations and international organizations from going to work.
Members of this council have said that this will have a significant and immediate impact on humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.
