In Gardez, the capital of Paktia province, two members of a popular uprising were killed

Paktia police spokesperson Hayatullah Nezami said that gunmen opened fire on them in the first area yesterday evening and fled the area.
According to him, the armed Taliban were involved in the case.

Mr. Nezami also says that four children were injured in the shooting and are in critical condition.

The popular uprising forces are local residents who take up arms in defense of the government and defend their territories.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the allegations.
