Uzbekistan resumes electricity exports to Afghanistan from January 25

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has announced that the country will resume electricity exports to Afghanistan from January 25.

The ministry said that the export of electricity to Afghanistan was stopped due to unusually cold weather and lack of energy resources in that country.

In the announcement of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, it is stated that in order to provide stable electricity to the consumers of Uzbekistan, the supply of electricity to Afghanistan was temporarily stopped and this process is supposed to be resumed from January 25.

Earlier, Amir Khan Motaghi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, asked Uzbekistan to export electricity to Afghanistan according to the agreement between the two countries.

It should be mentioned that the electricity cut from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan has left the residents of most provinces, including Kabul, with a lack of electricity.
