SIGAR: Uzbekistan had cut off electricity to Afghanistan due to non-payment

The Office of the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction says that Uzbekistan cut off its electricity exports to Afghanistan due to non-payment by Taliban officials.
The Office of the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan (SIGAR) wrote in a tweet that the Taliban signed an agreement with Uzbekistan in early January to continue importing 450 megawatts of electricity until winter.
Sigar added that, according to reports, Uzbekistan cut off Afghanistan’s electricity until January 23 due to non-payment.
According to the Office of the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, the head of the Afghanistan Electricity Authority but has claimed that the power outage was a result of technical issues in the winter season.
