The Red Cross announced the continuation of humanitarian cooperation with the Taliban

The director general of the Red Cross says that this committee cooperates with the Taliban in solving humanitarian problems in Afghanistan.

Robert Mardini, Director General of the International Red Cross Committee, said on the sidelines of the Third International Humanitarian Forum in the capital of Saudi Arabia that despite the difficulties in delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, the committee is cooperating with the Taliban in solving humanitarian problems in this country.

He said: “Our cooperation with the Taliban is progressing well. Of course, there are difficulties, but we are moving forward and today we can provide basic assistance to Afghanistan. this is important.”

The General Director of the Red Cross added that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is extremely worrying and due to the obstacles that exist in the way of providing some aid to the people, the process of distributing humanitarian aid is also facing problems.

According to Mardini, the majority of Afghan people currently live below the poverty line and the situation is extremely difficult and complicated.
