Khalilzad welcomed the killing of ISIS leader by the Taliban

Zalmay Khalilzad, the former representative of the US in peace affairs of Afghanistan, has welcomed the killing of the leader of ISIS in Afghanistan by the Taliban.
Zalmay Khalilzad wrote in a series of tweets that “the confirmation of the death of ISIS leader and famous terrorist Ijaz Amin Ahangar known as Abu Usman Kashmiri in Taliban operations is good news.”
He added that the Taliban had pledged in the Doha agreement to fight ISIS, and the elimination of Kashmiri shows that they are doing so, at least implicitly.
Emphasizing that the full implementation of the Doha Agreement is in the interest of Afghanistan and the United States, Khalilzad added: “I ask the Biden administration and the Taliban to sit together and prepare a road map for the full implementation of the agreement.”
The former representative of the US in Afghanistan’s peace affairs had previously called ISIS a common enemy of the Taliban and the West.
