The UNAMA mission in Afghanistan was extended for another year

The United Nations National Security Council unanimously extended the UNAMA mission in Afghanistan on Thursday.
On Thursday, the United Nations Security Council unanimously approved a resolution to extend the work of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), according to which UNAMA will continue its activities in Afghanistan until March 17, 2024.
In addition to the extension of UNAMA’s work, the UN Security Council also approved another resolution regarding Afghanistan, based on which this council wants to receive coherent and impartial proposals to deal with the existing problems.
Previously, the Taliban officials have also requested the UN Security Council to extend the UNAMA mission in Afghanistan.
